BRYN DAVIS is a composer based in St. Paul, Minnesota whose works are oriented around active discovery, fluid possibility, and (not infrequently) absurdity. They collaborate with performers including loadbang, Vertixe Sonora, Ensemble SurPlus, and Proxima Centauri to make new pieces and improvise with bands Paradise Complete and NASDAQUIRI. Bryn's music has won a variety of awards including the 2022 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, loadbang’s commission competition and multiple selections in Score Follower’s Follow My Score competitions. Additionally, they have created music for The Neo-Futurists and released their reconstruction/realization of die Reihe's Vocoder on Bánh Mì Verlag. Their participation in the Sommerakademie at Akademie Schloss Solitude and in Festival Mixtur have involved lessons with Chaya Czernowin, Rebecca Saunders, Hèctor Parra, among others. Bryn holds an M.M. in Music Composition from DePaul University and a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Their primary teachers are Fredrick Gifford, Christopher Wendell Jones, Seung-Won Oh, and Filippo Santoro.
